In a curious case of history possibly repeating itself, Apple appears poised to let its iron control over hardware cost it the market for smart phones. Google’s Android, arguably a clone of the iPhone, has become available on a variety of exciting hardware platforms and on a variety of networks. While Apple can still claim to be the trendsetter, it is now only the third-best selling smart phone behind Android at #1 and RIM Backberry at #2. Haven’t we seen this somewhere before?
