News reports posted on MSN today provide details on a plan for Verizon Wireless to offer the iPhone starting in January of 2011. This will come as good news to the many Verizon Wireless customers who have wanted to use the iPhone, but have been reluctant to change carriers to do so. Although Verizon Wireless also offers several excellent touchscreen phones, such as the Blackberry Storm and the several flavors of Droid phones, many users simple prefer the Apple device for its ease of use and access to a significant library of apps.
This is probably not good news for AT&T, since a significant portion of their new subscribers come from users wanting the iPhone, but OptiCom feels that any increase in competition will be good for our clients because it has the tendency to drive down prices and increase value.
